Each year our city has a Flower Festival complete with an open market, parade, and even a Miss Bloom Beauty Pageant. The festival lasts for 3 days. We had a very busy weekend, but finally on Sunday afternoon, we were able to walk to the festival and check it out. Needless to say, J wasn't too excited but he obliged since I wanted to go. We had a great time. J even enjoyed himself when we saw some really foreign food and might I add extremely gross insects!
We walked through the open market to see all the locally-made crafts, food, and flowers. This country has some very beautiful and unique flowers with the brightest colors. We also realized that there weren't many foreigners there, but mostly local people. It was great to just experience another part of their culture. During the parade, they have floats made of flowers. Each float represents a person or a unique part of their culture. All the floats are entirely made of flowers. Those of you who like flowers would love this festival. It is beautiful!
