IWC Team Trip

Last week we hosted a team of 20 teenagers/adults from 2 different states in the US.  The group was called The International World Changers.  And they did just that!  It was a great week.  Lives were impact and changed through their hard work and labor. 

Our team worked in a new area where we have been breaking ground for about 2 months.  J began teaching at the Hua-Rin School this school year due to the closing of our previous school.  Most of our work up to this point has been teaching in the school and building relationships.  The school is very open and there are even a few teachers, cooks, and students who are believers.

We spent the week using a VBS-style program to teach English, “Word” stories, crafts, and games to 1-9 graders.  There were 120 students total in the school.  On Tuesday the school asked us to teach a one day English Day Camp to help prepare the students for their upcoming government English test.  We agreed since they were so open to us coming to share our own stories.

In the five days we were teaching, we taught the Word from Creation to the End.

At the end of the English Day Camp, J gave out the completion certificates to all the students in the school.  J also received a gift from the school on behalf of our team.

This week was loads of fun.  We were able to share with the entire school, staff, and establish a presence in this new village.  Through the work this week, we learned that there are 2 teachers, 3 cooks, and 3 students who are believers.  We also learned there is a house group in the village with 37 families in attendance, so around 100 people!!!  In addition, several of the older students are interested in learning more!

This is great news.  At this point, we are going to begin researching more about this group, their beliefs, and work to begin a deeper relationship with the head of the group.  Our hope is to partner with them to reach their remaining villagers (3000 people) and then the surrounding villages where there are no believers.

What a fruitful week!  Thank you to all the IWC team members who came and sacrificed a week of their summer to love on the people in this country!
