Lantern floats around the city moat
Every year in November our country celebrates the Loy Khrathong Festival. It is a time for the people to cleanse themselves of their bad kharma and sins for the entire year. Despite the meaning behind the holiday, we have found that it is one of the most beautiful times of the year in our city. Every business is decorated with lanterns, lights, and flowers. For two weeks the city is transformed into a beautiful city of lights and flowers. It kind of reminds of the Christmas season, but here it is lantern lights and elephants.
One of the first nights of our friend visiting, we headed out to the moat to check out the lantern display. Here is what we saw…

This is a typical lantern display. You see these all around the city for miles. They are beautiful.
If you were hungry, you pick any food vendor and have some fish, pork, or beef balls. Not so much our favorite!
