Being Upheld: Happy Birthday, Aim!

Today we headed to lunch with a group of friends to celebrate Aim’s birthday. Her birthday was actually on the 26th of June, but Aim was busy and unable to celebrate with us. Aim chose a cute restaurant near J’s office, so he could join us for lunch. This was a rare treat. He is usually too busy to step away from the office during the day for lunch.

We ordered a feast and while we waited for our food we dove into the birthday celebrations. We sang “Happy Birthday.” They always sing our English version, so it is nice and easy for us. Apparently, there is no version in their language. L made Aim a chocolate cake since this is her favorite. Then, Aim blew out the candles.

This was a special celebration for Aim because her family no longer celebrates birthdays. Both of her parents are always working, so they don’t take the time to spend time with her. This was her only birthday cake and actual party in honor of her birthday this year. On her actual birthday, she had to help her mom work at her clinic so she didn’t even get to have fun on her birthday.

We are so excited we were able to take her out and have a little fun to celebrate her!
