We are so thankful to have wonderful friends and family who truly care for us. We didn’t live here long until we took a survey of the grocery store shelves and realized how many items we cannot buy (such as Hamburger Helper and Girl Scout Cookies). Even more obvious are the items we can buy here, but with an extremely inflated price (such as the $10 box of Cheerios). There are just some things you learn to live without at those prices!
After being here for several months now, we are getting settled in and enjoying the new experiences. However, there are some things that you never forget about home-friends and family for sure! But we both also miss some of our “favorite” foods and comforts. This week we have been blessed beyond measure by several different groups. The best part was it came just in time for L’s birthday on Tuesday! This week we received CARE packages from home!!! We were blown away by all the generosity and love that went into each box sent! It was so fun to get mail. (We never get any here.) But it was even more fun to see food items with English on it and nutrition facts that we can actually read!

We wanted to say “Thank you!” It is so nice to have a little taste of home. We were like little kids at Christmas! Thank you so much for the effort, love, and money that went into the boxes. We are truly grateful for each item sent. We received so many of our favorites. It is amazing to see how well you all really know us! (They only thing now is that we are going to ration it so we don’t use it all up too fast!)
