Never a Dull Moment

Each week brings new excitement and challenges.  This week was no different.  Last Friday, we were invited to a friend's quad party.  We had a great home cooked meal: chicken and noodles, cornbread, fried squash, spinach dip and bread, and hot Ghirardelli brownies for dessert.  I am sure not to your surprise we again brought the drinks!  We are so glad people don't think we can cook.  We have really had it easy.  After dinner, one of the younger guys decided to shave his head and all his facial hair, so we got out the hair trimmer and clippers.  (Just by looking at the picture I am sure you can guess which one it was.)  Before the evening was over around 5 guys decided to shave their heads.  Thankfully, J just got a trim.

Saturday, some of the little girls in our quad decided to have a "Harvest" Party and invite all the kids that are with us on the "Farm."  It was quite an event.  Just about all 30 kids showed up.  Picture this... 30 kids + parents in our small great room.  (scroll down to an earlier post if you forgot what the great room looked like) It was a tight fit.  Some of them dressed up; others didn't.  We played all kinds of games and J even agreed to be wrapped up with toilet paper as a mummy.  He is really warming up to kids these days!  It was a great time!

On Tuesday of this week, we had the pleasure of experiencing our first shot clinic.  J and I each had to get three shots, which is better than I thought.  The nurses are really efficient and go so fast you don't even know what it is about to happen.  You have on nurse one side and another on the other.  They count to three and bam!  No time to chicken out or even cry.  Really, the only part that hurt is the vaccine going through your body and the side affects.  The best part of the day were the fun band-aids everyone on the "Farm" sported the rest of the day.  We all walked around so proud of our battle wounds.

You can lift us up next Tuesday as we have to have shot clinic number two.  We each should be getting another three shots.  Hopefully the soreness and bruises from round one will go aways before we get round two!
