Most of our activities are done together. However, many of our friends are girls, so L wanted to plan a special night for all of the ladies to get together and just hang out for some food, fun, and a flick. It was also a farewell party for one of the girls who would be leaving for 3 months with an internship program.

Our new apartment has a great veranda, which is perfect to host many guests and show an outdoor movie. It seems to be J’s favorite spot! L invited a few friends over and they invited friends, so by the time it was to begin there was a houseful.
We had a feast! The girls enjoyed American macaroni and cheese, strawberries, chicken, vegetables, popcorn, brownies, and cherry kool-aid. The kool-aid was a first for most of the girls. Some liked it and others thought it tasted like cough syrup.

Waiting in anticipation for a good chick flick…too bad for L it was not in English. L had to put her language skills to the test!
J did participate in the event. He helped set up all the wiring and projector for us.
Watching intently…
One of the best parts of having the movie night is just being girls, talking about girl stuff, not worrying about what boys might think, and just relaxing with some good friends. And it was all under the night sky! So fun to watch a movie and look up to see the stars glowing above!
During the evening, L met many new friends. These three had never met a foreigner before who could speak their language. They were so excited to talk together and even tried to practice a little English.
What a night!
